Orchard with Linda

Last Saturday, my aunt Linda came to visit! It was great to see her again, we don’t get together nearly enough! While she was there, we decided to go to the orchard nearby. Picked up some caramel apples and a new table runner, other than that… I got a little camera happy! Enjoy!

Rabbit Pride

On Saturday, I went and spent the morning with Mom. We embroidered a fleece blanket that Tiana will be raffling off as a fundraiser, and then a vest for mom!
We were very excited with how it turned out and plan on doing more for me and Tiana!

Jammin' Away

Last week, I got a bug… a canning bug… and decided I should give canning a try! So I focused on fruit! Ran to the store to grab some ingredients and headed home to start cooking! My very first attempt was Peach Plum Jam.

I really like it, maybe a little too sweet for Chris, but very proud of how the first batch came out! (Mainly, I really like how pretty canned food looks!)

Stay tuned for more!

Hit Me With Your Best Shot!

On Labor Day weekend, I went to a Pat Benatar concert! While we only know two songs, we still managed to have a good time! Sorry not many photos... as we weren't allowed to take any... but, I did manage to sneak one - shhh don't tell!

Towering Achievement

Chris has made it to the top of the tower!
However, he left one rung on the ladder... the challenge now goes to Tiana for total victory!!!

Taking Tiana Out

A few weekends ago, Chris and I took Tiana out geocaching with us! This was her first time and she even made the first find of the day! I really liked having her come along, and she even brought her camera to snap a few shots.

While we were out we have to pose in front of the "red trees" that mom always liked to put us in front of as kids to take our pictures (this one is for you mom!).

She took a picture of me, Chris and Ruger while we were at a find - really wishing I had put make up on this day :)

My favorite is this one of Ruger in the truck, ironically looking very peaceful. She took a couple other photos that day, but hasn't sent them to me yet. Once I get them, I will definately post - I love to show off her work!

Conquering Fears

Last Sunday Tiana came over to visit! We were playing outside with DaShawn and Chris kept looking at the windmill... He has been saying since we moved in that he would like to climb to the top... Sunday seemed like a good day to attempt just that!

In our household, a fear of heights is commonly found... Chris and Tiana turned this feat into a competition and they over came their fears.

Tiana was first, then Chris had to out due her! This is as far to the top as he made it, but I was still impressed. Tiana decided she could do better!

Tiana made it the highest and gave us a big thumbs up! No one made it to the top on Sunday, but I'm sure there will be more who try! I give them both many congratulations for their bravery, as DaShawn and I were merely spectators in this event - keeping safely planted on the ground!

30th Birthday Party?!

On Saturday, August 22nd, we celebrated one of my favorite lady’s birthday!!! My friend Becky turned the big 3-0 so we all gathered at her place for food and fun!

I was having a great time catching up with friends from Willmar that I haven’t seen in a long time! We all ate supper and caught up with what is going on in our lives!

After we ate, Becky asked us all to gather in the front yard, as she and Paul (boyfriend of 14 years!) had a surprise for us! They stood in front of us all, and then Becky’s brother joined them! (…Becky’s brother is an ordained minister…)

Becky and Paul got married in a surprise wedding with their family and friends present!

It was the best wedding ever; the ceremony was literally 3 minutes long, followed by a fun filled “reception”. We sat around a bonfire filled with “spirits” until nearly 5:00 the following morning!

Congratulations Paul & Becky!!! (It’s about time!)
