An Engagement

-
I just want to say congratulations to my baby brother on his engagement! We knew that Caycee would become part of the family from the moment we met her! Congratulations, Chris and I are so happy for you two!

Initiating Wednesday Wishes

Last night while the hubby (sounds so weird... I think I will just continue to call him "boy") was watching a new movie, I did my usually online wishing... this is when I go out onto this vast web and ogle all sorts of goodies - last nights mission was art for the living room... Note that I normally purchase nothing on these missions and last night was no exception...
really just scoping it out cause I hate missing deals!
-
In the middle of pestering the boy, he asked why I don't just blog about it... while I know it was said sarcastically, and only to make me stop interrupting Ironman, it got me thinking… maybe that is what I should do! It would give me a place to “store” finds and ideas… and possible future projects! So I am initiating my own Wednesday Wishes (we’ll see how long it lasts, probably just this one week)!
-

-
I began my art quest at Z Gallerie, I totally love this sight! All kinds of goodies just screaming “buy me”! So I found these two ideas… they got me thinking… can I make it myself? Is it really any cheaper to do so? Floral or Fun? Hmmm…
-

-
The sparks started flying and then… I got distracted by all of this gloriousness! I am a sucker for white ceramic anything… I fear someday it may take over my house!

Ol' Beanie

-
Last weekend, we were on the way to my parent's house and came across some roadway flooding.
-
-
SW Minnesota has been hit with a lot of rain last week, which lead to a lot of flooding in the area. Because we were forced to turnaround anyway... we decided to take a detour and see some of the water for ourselves.
-
-
Every road headed towards my parent's place seemed to be closed... and if it wasn't, there was usually water on it anyways... Chris decided he was going through it if it wasn't closed, so I held on tight and we had no trouble...
-
-
A few miles from their place, we ended up finding a new lake!
We now call it Ol' Bean Field or Ol' Beanie for short!
Maybe a little corny, but it's my blog and I'll corn if I want to... :-D

Congrats and Projects

First and foremost, I want to say CONGRATS to DaShawn! He is officially the toughest 4 year old boy in the nation (well in pedal pull - I'm pretty positive that means the toughest overall!)
-
In other news, with all of the wedding jazz over, I am super excited to switch modes and get cracking on my to do list! There are tons of projects that have been waiting patiently on the back burner until everything else settled down... and that time is now! I can't wait to start cracking away at it!
-
I have been looking at all sorts of things in a new light (Chris calls it "cheap", I call it "frugal" - either way our checkbook is happy! Take for instance, my need to have a pair of white ceramic birds for our wedding - all the real ones, too spendy and Chris said I didn't need them, but I insisted I did!
-
Solution: Buy a pair of cheap ceramic birds and spray paint them in a glossy white!
-
-
Result: Two beautiful birds that we both loved!
-
-
I am sure there will be plenty more of these debates to come, and I can't wait to discover the solutions!

Pull Hard!

-
I want to wish my favorite little man good luck on Saturday! DaShawn will be competing at the National Pedul Pull this weekend! I am going to try to make it, but incase I can't, I want him to know that I am cheering him on, "Pull Hard Little Man"!

Been Busy...

Hi Everyone! As most of you know, things have been crazy around here! I am working on getting settled after the wedding and changing focus to work on projects around the house! A big thank you to some of my favorite gals for all of their help to make this past weekend so special!

Ozzy's Favorite Game

I have been spending a lot of time at my parents place lately planning for the big day, so Tiana and I decided to take a break from assembly lines last night to play Ozzy's favorite game!
-
-
The window well outside of Tiana's room catches anything that gets blown around the farm, and for some reason is a haven for toads and frogs of all colors and sizes. Ozzy thoroughly enjoys the nights that we decide to clean them out.
-
-
Tiana jumps in and hauls out the frogs for Ozzy to chase! He nudges them with his nose, but mainly jumps back when they move forwards his feet, he only likes to act tough.
-
-
Tiana was a very good sport last night, smiling when I asked and allowing me to document this process! Thanks Munchkin, you know I appreciate it!
-
-
Some times you have a kiss a few frogs... but that's another story...
-
-
Anywho, at the end you have a happy dog and hopping frogs! Last night we pulled out 13, while there were still others hiding under the edge... maybe next time they will decide to come out to play with the overjoyed pup!

My First Twins Game

-
On Tuesday morning, my friend Holly invited me to attend my first Twins game ever that night! They were playing her favorite team, the Tigers (she's from Detroit), and she had an extra ticket!
-
-
I was extremely excited! Not only was that this was my first ever twins game, but it was also at the new Target Field!
-
-
Holly spent much of the night laughing at me, cause I have never watched an entire baseball game in my life. Not High School. Not College. Not Professional. Nothing. So she tried to explain everything, while I was just mesmerized by the pitch speed!
-
-
I am an avid, self-proclaimed "people watcher" and it was a great place to take in a little of that! All the pretty lights, grass and fans kept me well entertained and I learned plenty! Can't wait for the next one!
